Welcome to Pan-Gaia Designs!

Expect to see a cultural fusion, incorporating unexpected elements from around the world.

  • Expect to see costumes that transform people from the mundane to the sublime.
  • Expect to see a commitment to the beauty that is the human form.
  • Expect to see unusual takes on ordinary ideas.
  • Expect it to fit properly.

The founder of Pan-Gaia Designs is Claudia T Smith. A long time ago a very smart friend saw her obsession with fashion and costume and told her “You should just make what you want to see. Someone is bound to like it.” Truer words were never spoken.

Today Pan-Gaia is a small company dedicated to making people understand that they are inherently beautiful – and allowing it to show. The costumes are designed with real humans in mind (not a nearly impossible ideal), the models are real people that Claudia knows, and the quality of every single item is top of the line.

Claudia has been doing costume work in various aspects for over 20 years. She has made everything from togas to fight-ready garb for the SCA, children’s costumes to ideas from the start of time, silly to godlike. She currently has several people that she works with to trade ideas, make different items and generally push the imagination as far as is possible.

Take a walk through our galleries and see what is possible with a little imagination and a lot of dedication. We are proud of our commitment to quality and beauty, and hope that you enjoy the tour.

A Break and then BUSY!

Time flies when you're having fun, or if you are busy like the proverbial beaver.  This year, this is being brought home even harder by virtue of having more conventions, and more work than ever before.  Summer after A-Kon has been a bit of a break, but it looks like there will be a ton happening in the not too distant future.

Pan-Gaia Designs will be at three conventions at the end of the summer:

ArmadilloCon - August 27-29 - http://www.armadillocon.org/
AnimeFest - September 3-6 - http://animefest.org/
FenCon - September 17-19 - http://www.fencon.org/

In addition to this, I'm working to see if I can get into OniCon, a local event in Houston.  It's pretty much right up the street from me, so I probably should be there if I can be.
